American Splendor (DVD, 2004)

Not great

I generally expect great things from Paul Giamati. He is one of my favorite actors. This movie was basically a documentary with Giamatti acting out various scenes of the subjects life. It was casual to a fault and not terribly watchable. The subject is a famous cartoonist who was friends with and made famous by cartoonist Robert Crumb. There was an award winning documentary made of him some years ago that I highly recommend.Read full review
