ideal night time reader

With my previous kindles the one big issue was always the night time lighting scenario. You don't want the lamp on disturbing your partner, also if traveling by plane or coach you want to be able to read when they darken the aisle without disturbing anyone or having to use a sun par clip on light. The automatic light on this paperwhite is fantastic, of course this does mean the battery does not last as long as previous non lit kindles but it still has a great battery life.
If only they could make this waterproof too for reading on the beach, at the pool or even in the bath. Previous non touch kindles you could throw in a sealed bag and still read, these touch kindles you can't because this somehow makes the touch interface glitch all over the show.
All that said, the paperwhite is definitely worth buying, it's easy on the eyes, and easily readable in all lighting conditions.Read full review

Light weight and easy to read

Be aware.

I bought this “oldie” to replace my previous second Kindle..the first having been from 1913 the second from 1916.
If I had the chance again I would go for the latest model.
