Alpine PWE-S8 8 inch Subwoofer System

I was not sure what to expect with a compact subwoofer. It was very surprising that the Alpine PWE-S8 was able to put out so much bass. It is not designed for heavy low bass, but it is awesome for rock/country/dance. I use it in combination with the Alpine 164BT and am very satisfied with the incredible sound. I highly recommend it, when only small bit of space is available. Even with the top down, I get great sound. I advise that only 8 gauge power and ground are used for optimal performance. Failed in less than a month of use.

Company would not help me out in any way with replacement. They kept blaming me for installing incorrectly and I explained multiple times the issue but they kept going back to install. I replaced the sub with a brand new amp and used existing wiring that they said was bad on my end and I have had no issues. I have installed multiple amps throughout my life and know the process. very good unit for the size and price

currently using two of these hooked to a Pioneer DEH-80PRS and using the pioneer's filters to tune them quite happy with the results. I was surprised at how well it can hit frequencies below 60-70HZ it does struggle below around 40HZ however that was expected from an 8 with limited throw. the integral LPF does attenuate a bit from 120HZ and up even when set to max. all in all if you are looking for a good clean install and a nice balanced sound this is a good choice. if you are looking to install in an open cabin i would warn you it doesn't have the power to throw a lot of bass but in an enclosed cabin its quite good. Good sound quality

For the size of it, its well worth if you only need a little low frequency kick.

Maybe under seat subwoofers are too small to be heard

The Alpine has not appreciably changed my car audio experience. Hard to tell it is even playing. I already get bass from 2x6" front speakers and 2x 6x9s rear speakers.

This little self powered sub woofer has a lot of power for what it is. I couldn't here my stereo over my modified truck engine, it was all treble no bass. Now i here it just fine. It has more low end than I will ever use, it will definitely add some thump to your mix.Read full review
