Well, my patio was pretty green with moss and lichen after winter. It was pretty dangerous too, being quite slippery when wet. I received the Algon organic cleaner and mixed it at 1 part algon and 3 parts water using a watering can, It was a dry afternoon and I gave the patio a good watering can application of the mixture. It dried within about 1 hour. I noticed the next day that gradually the green algae disappearing and the moss in the gaps turning brown. Over two weeks there was a massive difference and my patio was clean again. Nice One. I must get some more to do the front block paved driveway and slab pathways.Read full review

Algon is the best chemical I've used on Decking, pressed concrete and flags to remove green algae. Pet friendly, You just dilute and apply with just a watering can. You ha've to wait a few days, but after a week all the algae is gone and keeps away for about 3 months. No jet washing required. But in bulk to get the best price. £25 for 10 ltrs is about best price.Read full review

Too soon to say more.

Not sure how well it's working at the moment because it says it can take up to two weeks to fully work and I applied it 10 days ago. Also, it rained within a half day of it being applied. I'm going to give it the full two weeks then re-apply it. It may be that really stubborn moss and algae take a couple of goes and also a scrub.

It also says that it has a long-term inhibiting effect on regrowth of moss. This can be up to a year. Again, can't really tell until next winter whether this is effective or not.

I've not used any of the more toxic or jet washer applied chemical treatments for moss so I have nothing to compare it against. Jet washing shifts most of the moss and I'm using the Algon to treat the bits that remain in the stonework and some wood.

Polytunnel Cleaning - Does the Job

I bought this product with mixed feelings. I used it and then waited and waited. Good things come to those who wait. What a surprise after just one application and 4 days later the dirt started to disappear.
You do need to be patient and also try to wait for a dry spell. I used a sprayer to apply and was lucky with a dry spell.Read full review

Effective product, easy to use and reasonably priced

I noticed some paving slabs in my garden had gone a bit green over winter and wanted to clean them up.
I had not tried this product before, but used it with a standard garden sprayer and it was easy to apply.
It is also pet friendly, so I didn’t have to keep my dog out of the garden.
The package says it can take up to two weeks to work, but I found the majority of the green had disappeared in a couple of days.

Have used this product for a number of years on my block paving. It kills moss and keeps small weeds at bay. I have used similar products but have found algon to be the best.

Slab cleaning answer

This is a very good and simple product to use if you have a garden sprayer the product will go further than with a brush, but may need a second application if slabs are very green.

Brilliant.

We have used this for years. It keeps the front paving really clean and lasts all year. It is far better than using a power washer as it won’t damage the structure of the paving. I would highly recommend it. You just use a watering can. Really easy to do. BrRead full review

We've been using it for some years now and it certainly works well at clearing algae from concrete slabs etc. We've also used it on exterior walls to good effect. It will kill moss but you still have to remove it manually from surfaces. We would recommend it.Read full review
