If you are not a phone snob you really can't go too wrong with this. I feel maybe most the bad/average reviews of this are comparing to much classier phones that maybe are a wee bit faster or have a few more features but for me - odd bit of internet fine, including youtube and loads quite fast, texts easy enough, 4G seems to be working fine, responsive. If you don't really need more than that its great. But for god's sake avoid Alcatel Pixi 3 (or maybe any Pixi) - for most they're terrible.Read full review

Google Phone That Takes The Biscuit

The phone itself is fast and responsive however I must point out that this is not an Android phone it is a GOOGLE pry into your life phone. Set all your privacy setting and no network data download then put in your sim card and boom! Google returns everything to default settings?
What went wrong?
lets try again and reset the phone....
Ah I see now, It clearly states that this phone will perform this trick and I agreed without paying attention, silly me!

Suprised how good

This little 5"" inch phone seems small by today's standards wirh all the larger handsets available. but the screen works ipretty good and the keyboard is not too fiddly. I prefer a large phone but I suprised how good this is! To the point where I really like it. This is a quick phone as well and the memory is expandable, enough for most people, if you have a million MP3 tracks and tons of video, this is not the phone for you. I'm keeping as a backup phone. Reliable and easy to use with an excellent signal strength. This is the third, identical, model I have bought. I have never had to replace a battery on the first one despite using it for four years. The network signal here is terrible yet the Alcatel 5033x, used as a 4G hotspot for data for the household, handles streaming from youtube etc. very well. After having a couple of 'Chinesium' phones that ate batteries on a regular basis I bought the other two Alcatels for myself and my spouse, who is not tech savvy when it comes to mobile phones, and he finds it very easy to use. The screen size is smaller than the enormous Chinese badged phones I had but that makes it easier to hold the phone and carry in the pocket. Despite the smaller screen it is easy to read and crystal clear. This phone was a grade A return and was in pristine condition. Certainly a bargain for the price.Read full review

At this price, five star

For the money, this has to be five star. If you are used to a £600+ phone, you will find this slow and lacking features. However, as a smart phone with 4G access, video call/WhatsApp etc it is very acceptable. Front and rear cameras are adequate for the job and better than some. Very easy setup and app installation. Battery life is not great, need charging every 36 hours or so but for a phone under £40 there is no cause for complaint.Read full review

Love it so easy to use

Love it !!! haven't had a touch screen phone before and I don't need anything with all the bells and whistles but I like the Alcatel brand. My mum convinced me and got me this for an early christmas present and I love it, haven't gone through all the functions as yet as just getting used to the ones that I know and use.

Alcatel 1 great value

An entry level 4g phone for people who need the basics of speech, email and text without spending a fortune on the latest all bells and whistles ego boosting phone. It took a while to find the best settings for max battery life but its not a phone for constant video and gaming but for my needs it's finea charge lasting 3 days.
The Google Go android is very quick and has all the functions I need altogether a very good buy.

Backup phone

Bought this as an emergency backup phone. Previous experience is that it will come in handy (stolen phone, dropped down toilet, frozen etc) Not the most advanced mobile on the market, uses a light version of android, but fits the bill.
