High quality alarm

Combined optical and heat sensor - which is what I wanted. Good quality. Easy to install. Linked up to second sensor of same type and both test fine. I got two at a good price. Probably wouldn't have paid the full RRP as they are expensive at full price. Haven't needed to find out if it works with a fire though, so not able to give it five stars yet!Read full review

I don’t think it’s “amazing” to be fair..it’s a smoke alarm! Anyway! I’ve had to fit mains fed interlinked alarms now as a rent a room short holiday let and new legislation states these are required by law. Removing the old battery alarms I did see why this is a good idea..some fool had taken the alarm down (to smoke presumably!!) and reversed the battery so it was not in contact ..the room has been without a functioning alarm for who knows how long-so annoyed. One thing to consider is you can fit battery powered interlinked alarms but only as a ‘Temporary measure “ max 3 years, as most of these alarms are 10 year sealed battery.. that’s a lot of extra cash you’ll have to throw away prematurely, neither type is cheap, thank heavens you can buy used on eBay to save a bundle. Interlinking? This basically means they contact each other and in the event of an alarm they all sound..I’m really not looking forward to it. Worth saying with these if you don’t have a hard wire circuit to connect them for this in your ceiling you can purchase a radio transmitter to do it wirelessly, the ie3000mrf, this pushes into the base, appearance is same. I bought this brand as I saw they are a long standing British brand everyone stocks, generally the highest price. I will say customer services very helpful and informative. This model detects smoke and heat and apparently is required in multi function rooms with kitchens, otherwise you have 3016 for smoke and 3014 for heat (kitchens)First thing I’d say is compared to battery these look huge in my tiny flat, I might paint the ceiling as a night sky with the hope of disguising as a ufo! If you can bring a constant live from a light they are easy to wire, click off the wiring shroud, 3 large screws . Sliding off the base will fox anyone hoping to tamper I think, took me a while to figure out. Lots of options for a fixing point. Once online a constant green led shows..unsure about this interrupting sleep/distracting.. if the power is out this is extinguished while the battery back up keeps it going. there’s a large hush button and unsurprisingly they are loud! Good value multi-sensor fire alarm

Hard to rate a fire alarm as I don't possess the testing equipment to prove that it works, but these appear to be a great replacement for my older single sensor alarms. They fit the base plates for the earlier series, so a very simple upgrade option at a good price to provide better fire detection where it matters.Read full review
