ACTRON 9690 OBD-1 + OBD-II scanner.

very easy to use. Brand new with carrying case and all the cables needed to check just about any car or truck old or new. Plus it has the Code Review option, with a database showing the most likely fixes needed. Already saved me 3 times it's cost because of what it found in some used cars I was considering.Read full review

Easy to use

It is easy to use. It can be connected to any modern car. Will read most codes. Will not read the SRS codes on my Mercedes. It would not be the ultimate Professional shop scanner, but it is great for the shade tree mechanic such as myself.Read full review

Great buy

I purchased this tool to combine the OBD1 and OBD2 ports in one unit. Unfortunately it didn’t work with my obd1 vehicle as stated it would so I returned the unit. Other than that issue this scan tool is a great buy for it’s quality, ease of use and price.Read full review

Finally found my problem

Was using the scan tool at the local parts store but my problem was intermittent so by the time I got to the parts store, the code was set but the real data was not showing the problem. Now that I have this scanner, it only took two times reading the live data to see my 02 sensor was working but out of calibration. Sensor replaced...problem solvedRead full review

Awesome diagnostic tool

Got this scanner because it communicates with old ALDL on obd1. Or some say obd 1.5. It's graphing and pid list is very good, has helpful info on so many codes or symptoms. Can't go wrong. And all the adaptors is such a plus. Use it all the time and only regret not starting out buying this. Read full review

I Love IT

I love it. That SES light has been on for years. Resolved the issue in under an hour including going to get the part. Any shop would have charge me a couple hundred just to attempt to scan my OBD1 car, and would probably fail at it. The car only had two codes after all these years (94z28). Both were MAP sensor code 33 and 34. Replaced it and the SES turned off and now it runs great!Read full review

Pays for itself quickly!! Bosch makes Actron!!

So much more for your money than just 5-10 years ago. Cars in the family are a GMC Sierra, a Chevy Equinox & a newer Toyota. Reads 'em all!! Don't know if I'll ever need OBD 1, but I have it.

Mine came with up to date software. So I went ahead and ordered the cord for future updates and to download scanning suite. If you're worried about a tool that can see so much being difficult to operate/navigate? Don’t, it's very easy to use/follow even for the D.I.Y. guy.

actron cp9690

product is excellant works great plugged into my car (2001 silhouette) displayed codes showing problems , looked up codes & knew what needed fixing. son was able to fix for $100.00 instead of taking to mechanic shop & paying 600 to 700 dollars. Also went to manufactuers website & downloaded user manual for free. very useful ,detailed instructions on how to use. I am very happy with this tool.I can see where it can save owner 1,000"s of dollars on repair costs. I would recomend this tool to any one . Especially women who are tired of being taken at repair shops.Read full review

Cost effective moderately priced scanner for the consumer market.

Love my new toy. As a retired mechanical engineer I research all major purchases. This Actron scanner is actually engineered and made by Robert Bosch, a worldwide manufacturing giant. Online support and manuals are inclusive and well written. Software is upgraded on a regular basis and free for a period of time. Navigating the menus takes some time to get comfortable with but is to be expected. Does a lot for the weekend mechanic and enthusiast and can even be useful for small shops. It's not meant to replace the high end professional scanners.Read full review
