Windstream made better

Works well. Windstream upped my speed dome time ago which made a big difference. The speed without the bonded capabilities tended to be around 50 Mbps. I would notice some degradation in speed at time when there was a lot of traffic on the Internet. True to what I have read, the bonded vdsl produces consistent speed, approaching 70 Mbps regardless of traffic. As far as set up of the router/modem. It did not come with instructions, do you have to have enough knowledge to do it unassisted. I plugged the t 3200 into the network using the WAN port. It took a while for Windstream to recognize it and the light to turn green. Then I restarted my computer, opened the browser and the Windstream screen appeared. I entered the requested information. Windows 10 would not allow the installation of the driver Windstream want to install, however, I clicked complete and the Windstream user name and password loaded from Windstream - I was online. I used the IP address, id and password on the side of modem/router to change wireless SSID and passwords. Works well!Read full review

Windstream ModemRouter 3rd Party

I bought this Modem/Router to keep from having to pay $9.99 a month rental fee with my Windstream service which was just upgraded and needed a “pair bonded” option for highest available speed at my home. I followed the directions and had no issues and completed the setup including Wi-Fi with new passwords in around 45 minutes. There are less expensive options for Windstream but this was the best unit that they currently use and I opted to go that route. It is Windstream branded but is made by Actiontec and they don’t sell this to the public so I was happy to find it. The 4 network ports are 1 Gig for highest speed transfer.Read full review

Viable option avoiding monthly rental charge

You may need to change the Wan IP Addressing depending on your DSL service provider. In my case I had to change the Host Name and Domain Name on the modem. Check this setting on your current modem before you swap it out.

Easy setup. High cost item. Short life span.

Easy set up. Cost is a factor. Since this is the only one I can find that works with the Windstream bonded VDSL2 system, guess I am stuck. Previous one lasted about 3 years. I have Linksys routers that are 5 years old and still working that cost less than half as much.Read full review

It’s the real thing!

Works just like the one the Windstream technician installed when I signed up for their service. Only issue was that I had to contact Windstream to have them register the device in their system before I could get it to work. They said, because it was a new device, it was not in their system.
