AKG P120 High-Performance General Purpose Recording Microphone

AKG Kicks it!

I think this microphone works incredible for recording my combo amplifier using it in conjunction with my SHURE SM57. Even the AKG P120 alone is a great sound, but together you get all the right highs, mids, and lows for a sweet smooth guitar recording for Rock N Roll and Steve Vai style solo playing.

I bought this B stock and its flawless and even came with the basic mic clamp. I'll get a shock mount later.

Would I buy this again or another AKG? Oh yes! It records the sound facing the amp very well while blocking out surrounding noise behind it.

Built like a tank, sweet look to it, great sound, what more could you want?

Better than many!

I purchased this mic to replace my mxl 990 after being stolen and the akg definitely has a better sound compared to that one. Which is great because the mxl is also supposed to be a great mic as well.

Great mic for a reasonable price

This is a tried and true quality mic. Very flat response and the attenuation pad is useful. Major upgrade from my old lower quality mic. Great bang for the buck!

We use it for live bluegrass performance it's a little touchy but does the trick.
Even picks up the bass well enough bit needs no reinforcement
