UV glue pen

I have tried the glue 4 or 5 times on different cracked or broken plastic parts. The pen worked only once. I appreciate that many plastics are different and may need more or less time to weld and set but I have managed this only once with the UV pen. I have had more success mixing superglue with baking soda for repairing plastics, a bit messy and takes longer but very good results on plastic. Read full review

Doesn’t do what it says on the tin!

At just over a fiver, I suspected it would not much good, and sadly, I was proved right. Tried to repair a plastic battery torch case. It did set off with UV light but stayed pliable and not hard. Then it just split open again. I do realise it is not a glue. Went back to good old epoxy and usual great result, back in business!Read full review

Poor quality, Batteries dead.

The build is very poor, moulding seams not finished off. The liquid leaked in the factory package before it was open, iv never used this type of material before so cannot compare the smell but this liquid smells toxic and dangerous. The UV light wouldn't switch on so once pulled out from the 'pen' I removed the four screws and freed the batteries, tested them and both were 0.02volts.Read full review

Leaky

On opening the packaging it quickly became clear that the tube had been leaking, resulting in a very messy glue pen. Difficult to control the flow of glue with accuracy but the final result was good with a clear bonded join of surfaces.Read full review

Saves money in special circumstances

I used the 5 second UV repair pen to replace two broken nibs on a plastic collar which connected the base of a post lamp to the top section as no spare parts were still available. The repair worked well so it saved me buying 4 new light fittings as it was on a balcony with three others. Hence the title.Read full review

Works great as long as the light can cure it.

I bought this after seing it recommended to repair punctures in inflatables, I can only really comment on that but it works brilliantly for this purpose. As it needs the UV light to cure it may not work well where it is put and hidden away from the light, but where the light can reach it cures and sets hard in a few seconds. I've use it to repair a Lazy Spa hot tub and it works great even where the leak is close to the seam.Read full review

Shockingly bad product. Don’t buy.

Waste of money . I ordered two of these. Both arrived leaking in the pack. Tried to use them but the ‘pens’ are badly made and the ‘light’ is also very weak. About as much good as a chocolate teapot for gluing anything. Read full review

Great product I use it on vintage toys I restore as a filler and to hold parts down sets in seconds easy to sand down

Easy to apply and cure.

Sticks well, but, gets warm when curing with the UV, used it to repair an awkwardly split finger nail that kept splitting sideways, jobs a gudun, just wait till it grows out now !
