2X 72 LED Car Van Auto 4.5W Interior Ceiling Roof Light Bulb 12V Bright White

Cheap led alternative to trad. 12" 8W campervan fluorescent.

I wanted a replacement for a 12" 8W fluorescent tube I have in a diy hand lamp that draws less current from the batt. and therefore lasts longer on a charge. These led strip lights draw about
one third of the current compared to an 8W fluoro. tube. Drawback with using these lights as they are, is that the cover is completely clear, and so the leds are rather bright if you catch sight of them - these lights would be much more usable in my opinion if the lens was 'opal' translucent - ie cloudy or milky in colour -
less light would get through, but the glare would be MUCH less. There's barely any heat generated by these leds, so you could make a diffuser (cloudy lens cover) from a sheet of white paper. For my use I already had the diffuse lens cover, so I removed the strip of leds (the cover slides off after you remove two screws in the end cover and the led board slides out) and the little controller package that drives it at 9v, and glued this assembly into my typical Labcraft caravan light in place of the tube - need to remove the tube driver board and the tube holders,
so you are left with a bare box and opal cover, and the switch. The leds are still individually visible, but there's no glare. My hand lamp is now just as bright as with a tube, but lasts nearly 3 times longer on a charge.Read full review

I didn't actually use these lamps at such. It was the cheapest way to change halogen bulbs using the led strip inserts for my lamps already installed in my van. So the leds them self are great but lamps as such a bit cheap looking which they are but only needed the led bit not the lamp for my self.Read full review

Cheap alternative to traditional strip lights. Easy to fit, good light spread. Very cheap to run. Switched all my cabin lights for these, much better now. Easy on the eye.
