Allow an extra few quid to be safe.

Great idea this tent, with its fast pitching. Watch out for the finger trapping pole joints! Allow an extra £30.00 to buy an extra groundsheet or footprint, the built in groundsheet is very thin and seems to be made from the same cloth as the tent body. Far to thin to be durable. Quite roomy but a little awkward to get in and out, the inner door has an unnecessarily high bottom lip. It feels very sturdy as far as a shelter from wind is concerned. I have high hopes for this tent, I intend using it on a hard weeks riding around the Scottish, North Coast 500 motorcycle ride.Read full review

Sturdy & loads of room

This is my 2nd Khyam Igloo. I've had the first one for nearly 20 years and it's still perfectly serviceable if the weather's fine. It has stood up to all weathers and was the only tent left standing at Langdale campsite in the Lake District after last November's storms. The elastic components have lost their elasticity so I wouldn't want to abuse it in strong winds any longer. The quality of construction is second to none. None of the articulated joints have broken and all of the taped seams are still intact. I would recommend erecting the tent on top of a secondary groundsheet to protect the built in groundsheet. This will ensure it doesn't suffer stone damage and so will remain water tight. It has never let water in, even in the harshest conditions. There's more than enough room for 2 people with a couple of weeks camping kit. 3 is a bit of a squeeze. It's definitely a 'base camp' tent being too big and heavy for backpacking.
My new Khyam is identical to the old one in all respects except for the colour - why change something that works so well.
