Energy saving: But short life

We've been using these bulbs in our cooker hood for a few years now, so we have a bit of history to pass on.

Like: cost from eBay supplier, 30% energy saving, and standard size so easily fit into the space the original bulbs go.

Dislike: Lifespan is far too short 2000hours is 5.5 days continual use, so based on, say, an hours cooking per day, these only last 131days in general use. Let's call it 6 months allowing for shorter cooking times/meals out. That's poor and about what we're getting from them at best. Also the cost from other retailers is stiff. We would only purchase from these cheaper ebay sellers.

So, you save 30% on your energy costs in use, but the costs to manufacture and purchase undoubtedly outweigh that saving. We still use them hoping we may drop lucky and one or two beat the 2000hour lifespan and surprise us!

A good replacement

Part of my campaign to update to LEDs. Fitted in my cooker hood no problem and are probably brighter than the tungsten filament type they replaced.

Good quality with decent light colour

Works well as expected, pleasing light colour through the cover though next time I'd go for slightly brighter bulb. These are 3's whereas 4's would be better.
