I've used these types of traps for years and these ones are very well made. This type of trap needs a strong spring, well positioned clip mechanism and an all important cap between the jaws so that when rust appears or corrosion the jaws still spring shut.

three hands needed to set these traps. I am sure the principle is sound but you do need two very strong hands or three ordinary hands. I have been unable to set one yet.
