I build and repair guitars, so I see a lot of guitars coming in and string replacement is somewhere on the list. I mostly deal in electrics and buy budget, regular name-brand and a few premium options in bulk. Classical strings tend to last longer and those I see are often inexpensive student guitars, and I have to be able to justify every penny.

I have these on my own personal flamenco negra, and they are very crisp and bright. Exactly the sound I want and not particularly expensive. They feel nice too and hold pitch well.

I tend to have Fender classical strings as my budget set, they are ok, but I prefer La Bella, their classical strings are a little warmer sounding. These flamenco strings work well on warmer (often inexpensive student) guitars to gets bit clearer and brighter sound and I'm getting very positive feedback when these go on such a guitar.

It's a matter of taste and style whether classical or flamenco strings are right for each combination of player and guitar, I like these and they work well when a bright sound is required.Read full review
