THIS WAS MY FIRST PORTABLE CD PLAYER
I had a sony walkman cassette before this for working out. Im sick of APPLE ITUNES stealing my songs and making me redownload them a million times. I believe if you pay for music once its yours-you shouldn't have to be on wifi and trapped in a box to listen to something you bought. I love the CD player, it works well and makes me extremely happy. It also makes me stare at my iPhone and wonder if I could just beat it to death with a hammer and live my life in peace. It worked when I got it, but not for long.
The cd player just plain stopped functioning after a couple weeks of use. It started randomly skipping on cds for no apparent reason. Tried cleaning the lens to no avail. I'm not going to buy any more used portable cd players. Read full review

Very sturdy, great sound.
Although this CD player is close to 20 years old, it plays great and looks like new. It is very sturdy and looks waterproof because of the seals on the lid and attached rubber stoppers on the opening for the earphones and other openings on the CD player. I have had another one like this one for over 20 years and it is still going great. Best CD player I've ever owned. I purchased this one to have for a backup. Read full review

Too many actions do not work
Skips all over the place if moved slightly ! buttons on machine do not operate. Just plays on SHUTTLE only. Sound is good however. Waste of money. Coin Fitch.

Buy one. Rugged, looks good, sounds good.
Great DAC. Great amp. 40 sec anti-shock. Waterproof. Built like a tank. Real sports model, not sport-styled (I'm looking at you, Sony).
Sound quality beats most modern digital players: they used hi-grade in 90s, because there were no cheap, crappy Class D amps.Read full review

Excellent Panasonic SW405 Shockwave CD player.
My wife is delighted with the CD player, it may have been made in 1998, but being new and still in its box is was just what I was looking for and was very pleased to buy, even though it was in the USA. This particular model beats all the CD players that I have found on the UK market.

Excellent vintage product
This unit still performs well after 20 years. Electronic items today aren't constructed nearly as well. I believe Panasonic is out of the portable cd player market today. They made a great product.

after putting it through its paces for a day or so, i'm very, very happy with this purchase, and the overall experience matched the item. it was accurately described, reasonably priced, securely packed, and very quick to arrive. it's quite an old item, and the video showing it in action boosted my confidence in it and was a major factor in my decision to buy this one as opposed to one of the other listings, so keep that up. thanks a lot, and best of luck to you.
