The base unit of the Panasonic KX-TG6512b Cordless Phone system is suitable for small tables as well as wall-mounting. You can lower the power consumption of the handset through the included Intelligent Eco Mode, allowing you to keep handsets off the charger for longer, or to simply talk more with those you call. The non-slip handset provides superior grip, allowing you to cradle the phone even while working on other tasks. The digital screen on the Panasonic KX-TG6512 Cordless Phone shows the current time and date, as well as incoming Caller ID information. If you find yourself bothered by unwanted calls, the integrated Call Block capability can help eliminate the troublesome caller. For when you set the handset down, and can’t seem to remember where, the locator button singles the handset to make a tone, allowing you check the location based on the source of the sound. DECT 6.0 Plus technology provides for superior sound quality while extending the range of your handset. Set on the 1.9 GHz frequency, the operation of the handset will not conflict with many common wireless devices, such as computer keyboards and mice, microwaves, and other household items. And the digital signal helps prevent any unwanted eavesdropping on calls in progress. Voice mail connectivity is built-in, as long as the device is registered through the Phonebook function. For times when you don’t want to be disturbed, the Panasonic KX-TG6512b Cordless Phone includes a silent mode. You can set the phone to silent at your discretion, allowing you to enjoy peace and quiet or to concentrate on important tasks. Each handset’s silent mode is set separately, so you can silence the phone in the bedroom while leaving the living room phone unaffected. The Panasonic KX-TG6512b Cordless Phone system also provides up to 4-way conference calling capabilities, light-up indicators for rings and charging alerts, lighted handset keypads and digital screens, call waiting Caller ID, and a handset intercom function. Four-step talk volume, 6-step speakerphone volume (through the handset), and a 6-step ring volume allow you to customize the audio based on your unique needs. The extended battery life provides the Panasonic KX-TG6512b Cordless Phone with up to 13 hours of talk time on a full charge, or 11 days of standby time. Total charge time is approximately seven hours, making a full charge possible overnight. Included phonebook and redial memory options allow you to store and review information regarding callers. Any key answer allows you to pick up a call quickly, while barge in and privacy modes offer additional controls. The LCD on the Panasonic KX-TG6512b Cordless Phone system can display options in both English and Spanish, letting you choose the ideal language for your household. Each handset with the Panasonic KX-TG6512b Cordless Phone weighs only 0.2875 lbs, making them comfortable to carry during long conversations. Optional accessories (not included) are also available, such as various headset models, DECT 6.0 Plus range extenders for an ever-expandable calling range, and other compatible accessories. Blinking message waiting indicator is best thing going for it
We're happy that this phone has a blinking light when there's a message waiting. But the standard controls (caller ID retrieval; phone directory) aren't the easiest to maneuver through. Also, the keys aren't backlit, so honestly it is a challenge at times. I much prefer Unden and AT&T models with blinking light for message waiting, but they are near impossible to find.
