bernina built to outlast and built to be the best
The bernina 730 record is by far one of the best sewing machines ever built. Solid and heavy duty and able to sew a multitude of varieties of fabric. I cam quickly make any project with my 730. A well built piece of machinery that was before its time. Too bad all sewing machine manufacturers didn't take note and built more stable and reliable machines like the bernina line. Skip the newer plastic lightweight sewing machines and search for a piece of history and buy one of the older berninas. You will never regret it ! Great Sewing Machine
The Bernina Record 730 is a great machine. All metal parts with some nylon gears. It is a real work horse and stitches beautifully. It's very easy to operate, and there is a wealth of information on the internet about this vintage machine - so advice and tips and tricks are easy to come by. I definitely recommend it.

At the price, it was a fair deal. I'm satisfied.
As described and included in the pictures, the foot pedal needs fixing or replacing. It was very clean inside and, of course, needed oiling. It runs very well. I was a little disappointed that the buttonhole mechanism was completely frozen and needed to be disassembled to fix that. It works fine now. The light switch is broken. I'm now on the hunt for a replacement for that. All in all, it was a fair price and except for the things I've mentioned, it was as described.
