So easy to use!
I've only used it once but was very impressed. Getting to the water tanks is very easy and the dirty one is simple to clean. I like that it can be used on carpeting as well as hard floor. I zipped from the living room to the kitchen getting them both cleaned at once. I have yet to use the attachments but expect I'll be just as pleased with them. May work well as rug cleaner, but has a misleading name.
Don't be fooled by the name. It's called a "Hoover Steam Vac Carpet Cleaner", but there is no "steam" involved. I called the Hoover company to have them explain what was meant by the reference to steam in most of their units. It was explained that it was simply part of the name which they used. I tried to push the fact that this, as far as I was concerned, was false advertisement. I got nowhere with the talk after that. So beware!! There is NO steam in most of the machines, only hot water to be used, and some which have added electric heating element unit to dry the carpet while the cleaning cycle is being done. I should have done much more searching, because I found that there are only a few made with the steam option available, no matter which company you are searching through, and they cost MUCH more! The steam cleaners commonly available are for hard surfaces only, and won't work on rugs, carpets, etc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This works really well!! I previously had a bissell and it worked great too. This is smaller than my last but that's good because it gets into tighter areas. Great Vacuum!!!!
I had a 30 year old Hoover upright that finally "bit the dust". I ordered this Air Steerable UH72405 & I just love it! It is so light weight & I love the steerable feature & the 30' cord (although I wish it was retractable) It is very easy to convert to use the hose, reach up to the ceiling & very easy to empty & clean. I didn't think it would go from bare floors to carpets, but it does a terrific job with that, so I can go from my kitchen floor to the living room thick carpet without having to change any settings. I have a couple of fringed throw rugs that it would probably destroy because it has such powerful suction, so I just shake them out or use the hose attachment on them. I love all of the attachments, too! I was ashamed to show my husband how much dirt was in our carpets that I had been missing! The people that lived here before us had multiple cats & even though we had the carpets cleaned before we moved in, there was a tremendous amount of cat hair that this vacuum picked up that they missed. I filled the dirt chamber for each floor (3). It is also easy to pick up & carry up the steps & I am a senior citizen. I used to have to get my husband to carry the old one upstairs for me. This is not a steamer however you put very hot water mixed with the Hoover concentrate cleaner and apply that to the carpet. The vacuum is very strong and you can see the dirt and moisture going into the holding tank. My carpets are now very clean as I have pets and they can cause quite a mess. I love it.
