About this product

Product Information

Whether you're looking for your first bow for archery season or looking for a recurve bow that's more traditional than a compound bow or crossbow, the Martin Jaguar Recurve bow is a good fit. This Martin recurve bow is a full-size, 60-inch recurve bow with a draw range that sets between 30 to 40 pounds The draw and weight range make it optimal for shooting small- to medium-sized game, such as wild turkey and deer. These Martin right-hand takedown archery bows are designed to make it easy to disassemble for storage, cleaning, and transport. This archery bow also has a reputation for accuracy and reliability, which makes it one of the most suitable bows for archery hunting or target practice. At a weight of 2.8 pounds, the bow won't wear out over time, and it's designed to fit comfortably in your hand when you're ready to take your shot. The features and weight make it perfect for hunting, practicing, or participating in competition whether you're a beginner archer or you already have some experience. The bow has a smooth draw up to 28 inches. The compact size and maneuverability also make it easy and comfortable to hunt from a blind. The bows are made with machined aluminum and magnesium risers, which help provide balance and precision to a shot. They're manufactured with ergonomics in mind, so they won't dig into your hand or otherwise feel uncomfortable when drawing. The grip is made with Martin's patented Thermal V technology, which ensures a stable and comfortable grip in any situation. It doesn't accidentally slip out of your hand once you're holding it. It's important to be comfortable without any slippage if you want to be accurate and hit your target every time. The limbs are made with wood and fiberglass laminate, and that adds to its long-lasting durability and resistance to bending. The riser and limbs are also easy to tune so that you're shooting with consistency. The reinforced tips are ideal for fast-flight strings. If you prefer a traditional bow for archery hunting, the Martin Jaguar recurve is one to consider. The Martin Jaguar is also drilled to accommodate most of the accessories you wish to add. For example, some of the common accessories you can add are a sight, quiver, stabilizer, or even a fishing rig. With an adjustable arrow rest, you only need to tighten up the screws to reposition the rest either closer to or farther away from the riser. The rest is wide, so you should have no arrow clearance issues regardless of the arrows you use.Designed as a takedown bow, this traditional recurve is easily disassembled, lightweight, and very transportable. Disassembly is fast and easy because Martin made it simple with only two screws. The materials are so durable that you don't accidentally break anything when disassembling. The bow comes packaged with the riser, detachable limbs, arrow rest, string, and an owner's manual. With the sleek camo design and stable build, the Martin Jaguar Recurve Bow is a great choice for novices and experts alike.

  • Martin Jaguar and Jaguar Elite Recuve Bow

Just for perspective I own Mathews compound bow and several Damon Howatt recurve bows. Fine bows all. The Jaguar is a great value and shoots smooth and fast. It is a little heavy at over 3 lbs with stuff on it. The shelf on the Jag is big. I installed a whisker biscuit and it works great. Maintaining a constant secure arrow position when fired. When the Jag Elite came out I just had to have one. Much improved and a fine bow. Stories about limbs delaminating some years ago is a thing of the past. This bow is lighter, has a radiused shelf promoting a much more natural shooting position off the self. Checking draw weight for different limbs proved the be right on. The Elite is supposed to accept ILF limbs but I haven't seen articles on that or had any personal experience with that. Value: Can't be beat. Hoyt bows cost hundreds more and for my needs (hunting and target) I can't see the attraction. Hoyt makes a fine bow. But I think for the everyday archer you just can't feel that much difference. The Elite is a great bow and for the price with the Martin name behind it, it's a no brainer.

  • Great shooter

After shooting over 300 arrows with this bow, it is super. Easy to assemble. NOTE: The stringer I received didnt match the instructions, one end goes on the limb, not the both tips like shown in diagram. Just do a little research to see how the stringer works, works great once I knew how to use it. I replaced the arrow rest with a whisker bisket, but the plastic arrow rest worked ok all the same. I also put on a modern sight and use release with this bow, and it shoots and performs superbly. I would recommend this bow, and for the price you cant beat it.

  • the next best bow

The new martin jaguar elite, is more refined. Silent with Smooth and even draw, but on release all that power just surges through the arrow. Fast and even the power has the arrows flat and quick, with no shock through the hand. One of the cleanest transitions from arrow at full draw to arrow down range. As a recreational archer this bow is making me better than I am, and it just looks good to boot. Try it and enjoy it, I do. Great job Martin, great bow at a great price.

  • I bought the 55# Jaguar

I bought the 55# Jaguar and it shoots exceptionally well. I did some research and found some ways to quiet it down because it is quite loud when bare (Limb saver pads and a set of Beaver Balls). There were some complaints about the bow that had me concerned before purchase but found most of them to either be user error or just ignorance. (the arrow rest is exceptional) just appears to be cheap. if used correctly it gives great results. Do your research and shop around I payed 139$ and I'm very happy with the quality of this bow! Can't wait to get some brown down this fall!

  • I like the bow

I haven't use my 55 lbs bow yet, but I am using my 40 lbs and I love it. The 55 lbs is the same. I just need to work more on my strenght to be able to use it. I believe that this is a very good bow for a very good price, that is why I have two bows now. The one thing that some people may not like is that it is not really made to be (according to me) taken apart and put back up all the time. But on the other hand the limbs are not dependent on the string pressure to keep them in place and not to fall from the raiser, but in fact they are very well secured and make the bow more quiet, which is a good thing. I just release the string from the bow and keep the bow in soft case muddybuck gear. This works well for me.

  • Best recurve period!

I've been a bow hunter for 25 yrs. now, and have been hunting with the top of the line Mathews bow for 19 or those 25yrs. I've been wanting to go for traditional bow hunting for many yrs now, so I finally decided to look for a good recurve. I found more than a good one, even more than a great one, I know out of all these yrs of shooting bows, I found the best recurve bow out there! Shoots so smooth, fast, quiet (after a few cheap accessories), and powerful! I haven't shot a traditional bow since I started out in archery when I was 8yrs old, once I tuned this Martin Elite up and shot it for the very first time, I love shooting this. My groups are inside a silver dollar size mark at 30! So happy I decided on this one!

  • very nice!

very happy with this bow, not the first recurve i have had in my posession. It was a little hard to get strung the stringer that comes with was no help at all.. The arrow rest that comes with is a little cheap but is very adjustable. Very good bow for area of mounts for accessories. Not heavy at all, good pull and smooth draw on the limbs unlike another model takedown i had tried from another company.. Very happy with this purchase!

  • very good value

Great bow for the money. I started with a recurve bow 30 something years ago and am now coming full circle. The bow is easy to put together and shots great right out of the box. I have all ready recommended it to my hunting buddies and can't wait till this hunting season.
