Diablo Octane Driver (10.5 degree loft)
Bought this driver cause I seriously love the same model 3 wood (15 degree loft) which I have been using for a year. Took the driver on it's maiden voyage in late April (a 5 day Myrtle Beach getaway golf trip). I played 6 rounds of golf, and the Callaway Octane started out great... but faded as the week continued. My assessment... I think any shortfalls had more to do with "MY" lack of sleep all week, than the driver itself. I'm not one to blame my equipment, and when my swing was in good form... so were the drives this club produced (250-280yds and I'm a golfer that shoots between 90-105, so by no means a low handicapper). Perfect with a little craftmanship needed.
Not for everyone, but if you know how to work on golf clubs, removal of the broken ferrule and replacement of same plus a new shaft is pretty straight forward.
