This AKG condenser cable microphone features a twin-diaphragm system that allows you to select from various polar patterns. Made from gold-flashed plastic foil, the diaphragm in this AKG professional microphone does not allow short circuit to take place during the high sound pressure levels. For great close-up recordings, the AKG C414 B-ULS is equipped with Preattenuation that allows increased undistorted sound pressure levels by 10 or 20 dB. With the incorporated bass-cut circuitry, this AKG condenser cable microphone minimizes distortion at low frequencies. Best workhorse around
What do I know, it's only my second condenser. But it sounds frickin' great on a guitar amp together with ribbon and dynamic mics. Doesn't work well on my voice because of my very sharp upper mid resonances.
