Ok, but not high quality
Built with cheaper materials than others that l have purchased. Mine bent and is now unusable. Also is harder to get set. Update: after using these for a few weeks, I believe that they are a good value for the money. I have learned how to set them and have caught several moles. I don't recommend for chipmunks. rats etc ok
I got this unit for chipmunks. 2 things about this unit to be aware of. 1) The flap door can be pushed aside by rambunctious chipmunks Then they squeeze out the other side of the door way. . You'd be surprised the hole a chipper can squeeze through. 2) if you have Raccoons around and by chance catch a chipper late in the evening The coons can and will tear this apart getting after Chipmunks if by chance they flip the trap upside down the doors will open. I had mine wired to a tree on top and bottom of the side of the trap. Coons still rip it off the tree, I was using small diameter electric fence wire. The reason I know all this is I put a trail cam on video to monitor. I now use the one door trap Model #: 0745 that has a snap lock when door slides down and shuts. and I use stiffer wire to wire to trees. Works just fine, better than killing a defenceless animal
We had a big mouse problem, with one of these we caught over 40 mouse over a two month period. We are now down to just one mouse. Which is why we bought two more of these traps, we have one mouse left but he is a super smart fecker, tal=kes the bait every night on all three traps but doesn't sprong it. Setting trap is WAY too tricky
I haven't caught mouse one, although some mouse has stolen the bait. It is so difficult to set the trap door. The You Tube tutorial is worthless because the parts are so small. Havahart needs to zoom in better on that. To learn how to set it, I watch the tutorial for bigger size traps that I HOPE work the same way. If I had caught a mouse, I surely would have given this product a much higher rating. caught two mesis at once

Impossible to "set" the trap without it "firing" on it's own.
The trigger mechanism for this trap is faulty. I have tried many, many, many times to get it to "set" and it won't. I have followed the instructions carefully to no avail. I even filed the place two parts come together (they are supposed to slip apart when the critter steps on the treadle but they slip without any help on their own). It's not a good design. Squirrels are to large and smart for this thing but works with anything smaller
What strikes me most is the way the cage locks its door without adding to the spring tension or overall trap weight. I can control its sensitivity by twisting the tip of the trigger rod and put it on stilts on a water barrier when the bait also attracts ants.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

very easy to set up. put into trail and just step on it. I haven't caught my ground mole yet though. Seems to be active everywhere but where I set the trap. set in one place activity in another. move the trap and same thing. psycho mole I guess. Caught First Squirrel
Receive my trap 12/29/2017 I just caught my first squirrel out of the garage. Used a piece of Apple smothered with peanut butter and Wallah 5:30P.M he was in the cage. lucky for him I didn't bought a rat trap and kill them if this trap didn't work.
