About this product

Product Information

In January 1997 Eyewitness Bloody Sunday was published to controversy and in the ensuing months became the catalyst in the campaign for justice for the families of the 13 victims of the Bloody Sunday massacre. Along with the Channel 4 documentary which was based on the book, Eyewitness Bloody Sunday led to the announcement of a new tribunal of enquiry to re-examine the evidence which was heard and more importantly that was rejected by the discredited Widgery Tribunal. New appendices are included, contianing: previously unavailable statement from Soldier A , a Para who was present on the day of the massacre but was not involved in the shooting; previously unavailable statement from a British Army Officer who gives opinions on what happened on the day; there is a new 12 page afterword from Don Mullan in which the impact of the book is charted and updated conclusions are examined; an extract from the Breglio Report in which ballistic investigation suggest that the three people whose bodies were taken by the Army could have been shot in very quick succession from the walls of Derry; and testimonials from Nobel Peace Prize Winner, John Hume, Sinn Fein President, Gerry Adams and Sam Dash, Professor of Law in Georgetown University and author of the International League for Human Rights rebuttal of the Widgery Report.
