Read This Book - Life Changing
I was recommended 'The Hiding Place' by a friend who said it had changed her life. Now that i've read it, I can completely agree. As the foreword to the book says - Corrie discusses so many other issues aside from her heartbreaking and glorious story whilst living and working under German Occupation during WW2. It is a beautiful book, written by a beautiful person. It will change you and equip you for the road ahead. Inspiring story.
This moving and inspiring true story is one that I have read and re-read many times. It never fails to move me deeply, and the author, Corrie Ten Boom, although no longer with us, continues to bless and inspire thousands more still, with this, the story of her Dutch family's courage in hiding Jews from the Nazis. A true story which outlines the lives of the Christian Ten Boom family during the second world war and their efforts to save their Jewish friends and neighbours from arrest and deportation to concentration camps. Using cunning and subterfuge they use their watch making business as a cover to shelter Jews and distribute ration cards and clothing for those who were in need. When they are discovered, they are taken to detention centres and ultimately to Ravensbruck where despite their appalling treatment, they minister God's love to their fellow prisoners who have lost all hope. I'd never heard of Corrie Ten Boom until my daughter studied her in RE at school. She seemed genuinely inspired by the story, so I decided to buy the book and read for myself about this lesser-known wartime heroine; I had, like many people, read 'The Diary of Anne Frank' when I was a child.
