The Owl Service by Alan Garner
This book is over 50 years old but it is still a good story, not for younger children but it was made into a children's serial on TV in the late 60s which I also watched,but I had read the book. Based on the Welsh story of Blodeuwedd it is a fantasy of 3 teenagers and their turmoil with their parents eventhough they come from vastly different backgrounds with one being the Welsh boy with living in the valley with his mother and the other two being step siblings as their parents have just got married to each other after divorce and widowhood.There are twists and turns in the story,with the story seems to follow the legend,the handyman is a simple man,but more knowledgeable than he seems,the story unfolds and you have to read it as it compels you with the twists and turns, a good book.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
