Series 7 is a better design and much better price.
I purchased series 7 really loved it but wanted a better battery screen so when the series 9 came out I got one but it does not shave as good as the series 7. Also the series 9 looked like it had a better screen on it showing the battery life and such but it doesn't have a screen on all of them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Try to find this for under $100. Nice build quality.
I have a very heavy beard. This is the best electric I have ever had, but I like the trimmer on the Panasonic better. The shave quality with the Braun is a "9". Panasonic "8". I would buy it again. I like the cleaning feature, it's automatic. But after a few shaves only used the cleaner once because I am mostly trimming. I received this as a Christmas gift. My old series 3 shaver is suffering from a failing battery so I thought this looked like a good replacement. I haven't used it much so far, but first impressions are a faster and smoother shave. The shaver appears to be good build quality.
