Brilliant piece of kit
Straight out of the box this plugged into my forward facing Nextbase 522 camera and records a rear facing view. One tap and up comes that view. Another tap and a still photo is taken and retained. Foe such a small piece of technology it gives great results.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not for the larger vehicle.
Nextbase rear view camera fitted to my newly purchased Nextbase 522 was very easy to install. Had a problem that my SD card which worked OK without the rear view camera suddenly became incompatible. Resulting me having to purchase a Nextbase branded SD card which was quite expensive compared to other brands. Once the rear view camera was working OK I was disappointed that the view out of the rear windscreen was not very good. I have a Hyundai Tucson which is a rather long vehicle .The rear seat headrests also obscured the rear view. The rear view camera in my opinion would be ideal for smaller cars. In hindsight I should have purchased the camera which is fitted to the rear screen but wanted to avoid running the wiring through the car to the unit on the front windscreen.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good enough camera, dependant on what NB...
Good enough camera, dependant on what NB dashcam you use. This one is being used on a 422GW. I'm using a saloon vehicle, the rear window camera is probably a better solution for me as it would suffer from the boot being opened and closed when needed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Not for the unaware!
Issue 1) The product itself in a small vehicle is probably ideal but I own a Volvo XE90 and unfortunately the rear view camera won't reach past the 1st row of passenger seats (unless you count the top third of the rear screen) which of course renders it absolutely useless for recording a rear end shunt. ISSUE 2) The Volvo XE90 has a tinted top of front windscreen making it not a good place to stick a camera mount for this particular camera. ISSUE 3) No where in any of the instructions or diagrams are issues like this covered, this is not a cheap piece of kit and I am sure that I am not the first one to come across it and won't be the last, as I have already stated, there isn't a word any where that I spotted that refers to this or simalar problems.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Nextbase rear view zoom camera
I bought this rear view camera for the wife’s car as I had already purchased the Nextbase 522gw from Nextbase direct. This camera connects to the side of the 522gw and zooms to the rear window, footage is very clear even at night in the street lighting, I have already bought the Nextbase rear camera pod for my other car which sticks on the rear window but with that one you have to run a wire to the back so for convenience plug n play I opted for this one. The unit was refurbished so hopefully it’ll last a while but atm all good and great price.
