Very good Deterrent
Live in an area where squirrels are rife and they love digging in all my balcony flower pots. Having just planted all my pots, decided albeit with the feeling that I would be wasting my time and money to purchase this item and give it a try. Well.....two weeks later and I have now had a week complete with no squirrel attacks....they do not even come in for the bird food......but I can vouch for the fact that it does not bother the birds as they feed very happily. I have seen cats wince as they walk along the wall and set the sensor off and must confess to having heard a couple of dogs yelp as they are walked past if the scarer happens to be activated at the time!! Battery cat repeller
After two days of use I thought that this item had worked but at the time of writing this review, having used it for a couple of weeks, I find that the offending cat is still soiling my garden bed. I have moved the item to a different position but the cat also seems to have moved to a different part so I also use cat repellent granules as a back up. Query whether item is working effectively and how to ascertain.
The product arrived promptly and at an acceptable price, assembly is quick and easy, the solar batteries must be working on the basis that a red light comes on within the prescribed arc of operation but despite these factors, we are still experiencing cats coming into front and rear gardens and defaecating.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I had high hopes
The build quality looks fine and the price was right, and I had high hopes that this cat scared would solve my cat problem. However I'm disappointed as the cats just appear to laugh at it. Initialy it seemed excellent, unfortunately it has stopped working. A pity because it seemed a very useful cat deterrent.
It has rechargeable batteries inside but no apparent means of accessing them. It has been placed in a position that gives it sunlight for most of the time. It is possible that the batteries have failed to charge despite the fact that the solar panel has been carefully wiped every few days. Yours sincerely, Peter Bailey. Still got the cats
I bought this because my neighbour had a similar device that had been very effective. So I placed mine at the one main place where the cats get into my garden, but I'm sorry to say they still keep coming in, walking close to and immediately in the area where the repeller is aimed. Neat and compact
It's early days yet but time will tell if it's effective but had no fouling of my garden in the first week of using it. The unit is light and easy to install and what I like about it is the fact it's solar powered. Doesn't work for us.
The quality of the build is solid, but I'm afraid that it has no effect on the two cats who use our garden as a short cut. Have tried aiming it differently, but they still follow the same route, straight past it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Look for something better.
Only kept the battery charged during the day in the sun and didn't last at night. The idea is really good but not efficient when used. I got my first one changed because it stopped working. The new one is ok during daylight hours. But now it has stopped working.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Solar charger not up to the job.
It deters cats. However, I put it in a bright, sunny spot (it's been hot and sunny here in July). It works for a few days but the solar panel can't keep the batteries charged. Have to turn it off for a day to let it recharge. This is the third type of solar charging device I have tried. I'm never going to buy another one.
