Great value
This seems more serviceable than the original supplied with the lens which I found quite flimsy. That came apart quite early on and I had to glue it back together at least twice. This one looks to have a less complicated construction and to be quite sturdy. There's a sliding window to allow adjustment to a polarising filter where fitted which I'll likely find. Possibly better than original Olympus hood.
The original lens hood for the Olympus 12-40 lens is not a very robust design. Mine came apart twice. It has tiny parts and springs which are tricky to reassemble. So far the JJC has held together and seems like a good quality product. The design of the hood attachment on the 12-40 does not seem very secure. I've experienced both hoods being accidentally knocked off the lens. At least the JJC is fairly cheap to replace if you lose it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

All lenshoods should learn how to have access to rotate the filter.
This lens hood is really useful if you wish to use a polarising filter as there is an opening in the hood such that you can rotate the filter without having to remove the lens hood. Just about does the job
This lens hood does the jobs just about. It does click into place and holds in place most of the time but it does not click into place when you reverse it for packing away.
