Read up and Brew up..
Excellent little machine for the price. I have at last discovered the secrets, well, some of them, of making a really nice cup of coffee and this little beauty has helped me achieve that discovery. At 15bar there is enough pressure to penetrate a really well packed and tamped portafilter. This is one of the secrets I gleaned from trawling the net, (no pun intended), without at least 8bar you are apparently wasting your time if you want to produce the crema on top of your coffee that is in essence what goes toward making good coffee. Anyway, this machine produces the aforesaid which is not unlike a glass of Guinness. Beautiful. The steam wand works great too, producing oodles of steam without any apparent pressure drop, heating and frothing the milk perfectly. The water container, situated at the rear of the unit, holds enough water for possibly six or eight large cups of coffee and is very easy to fill, without removing it from the machine, using a jug. The only think I would criticise is the plastic spoon/tamper, flimsy...... and about 2mm smaller in diameter than the portafilter. The tamper or tamp, should be a good near friction fit into the portafilter opening, unfortunately the supplied one is not, but, hey ho, easy enough to buy a decent one for a few quid more. One day I hope to perfect some "Latte Art", but for the moment I am really happy to brewing some nice satisfying coffee, at last...Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

brewing lead time too long
The item is very simple to use and clean, and I like that! However, I'm very very disappointed with the brewing lead-time! I have to wait for serval minutes before I can get my double express and it even worse when it comes to prepare the milk. When standing next the machine and preparing my cappuccino, I keep laughing at my self as I feel as a kid as I m not satisfy with the item and I can get rid of it as I spent money to buy! I will highly prefer to have a machine with high power consumption and which will give me the satisfaction (heating high quantity of water for the brewing and milk so that I can get the quality and quantity which I want without waiting for ages) that I dreamed about and still dreaming to get one day! Espresso heaven

Good value, great coffee
Very fast, very easy to use, very easy to clean. makes great espresso and cappucino, and it's become the first thing I turn on very morning. The only thing is that it does drip a lot after you turn it off, so I've got into the habit of putting a cloth under the spouts as soon as I remove the cup - problem slolved and don't have to clean the tray evry time!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Does what it says on the box
Makes good coffee and amazing value given that it has the necessary 15 bar pressure. Only small issue is that the internal filter of the coffee mould comes out, which is difficult when making more than one cup as it is extremely hot (and thus almost impossible to get out in order to prepare the next coffee!).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Professional coffe
15 bars is needed to bring out the crema from the coffee. You need half the amount of coffee and get a rich creamy brew. I don't bother with the milk frother as it's easier to warm milk in the microwave. Good coffee!
The VonShef is very neat with a small footprint. It takes some time to master the art of coffee making as there are several stages to go through for cappuccino ... but it is worth it. Making espresso is quicker and easier; milk frothing takes a while. Once you've got everything together, it makes a wonderful cup of coffee. The instruction leaflet is a bit confusing - I marked the relevant parts to make it easier. AND the cup clearance is quite small. I bought cappuccino cups with a foot and they are too tall. Great buy
I got this together with Costa grinded coffee. I didn't count on much as this machine is in the lowest pricing range. I was pleasantly surprised of the outcome. It did a great job and quick. I read in a previous feedback to pre-heat the milk in the microwave before using the frother. Best advice ever! Value for money
