  • Not the Usual Baldacci

This is not a 'Good guys and bad guys' book which we have all come to expect from David. HOWEVER, it is totally out of the genre because it is set in 1940 in the Appellation Mountains and concerns a family. I found it to be a complete eye-opener regarding 'Mountain Folk' and the severity of their lives and whilst the UK was struggling with Hitler, they didn't have bombs dropping on them but they had one Hell of a tough life anyway. Certainly worth reading and engaging too
