  • Not at all lightweight - well written and un-put downable!

A classic. George Orwell had an uncanny knack of predicting how certain trends in society could be exploited. Their weaknesses used to the determent of society as a whole. Free speech and even to be in love could (and in the book) was forbidden and punished. Constant surveillance with the use of cameras was everywhere. The spirit to resist was broken and the reader follows the progress of a doomed love affair.

  • 1984

Obviously the story speaks for itself, but I like the quality of the paper it is printed on, your finger slides over the smooth paper without catching, not like the Penguin paperback, which has the horrible scratchy paper the puts your teeth on edge
