One of the most exciting things I have ever purchased
I was amazed to aquirethis hardback book for under £8. I watched the Ascent of Man on BBC i-player. I thought it would be very outdated but it was fascinating due to Jacob Bronowski's wise and in depth understanding of Science, Scientific thought and his understanding of what it means to be human. The book uses the same material.

Tells of the "rapid" ascent of "wo-man"
Brownowski reminds me of my much older big brother watching "The Brainstrust"..... with the likes of Muggeridge, Russell, Harding? etc. I never understood his fascination with the programme I appreciate him better now.

An excellent book - I first saw the TV series in the 1970's and purchased the book then. I lost the book when moving address and have purchased this to replace it. I also recently purchased the DVDs of the TV series.
