Engrossing - like travelling in time!!
Loved this book - the story is compelling, the writing full of description and vocabulary from another era, some words from the 14th Century which I have had to look up, as well as the use and style of language from the 1950's when the book was written. Romantic, but not Mills and Boone style, quite edgy in fact considering when it was written. I've got two friends lining up to borrow it as soon as I'm finished. Well, the book I received was not the same cover as the one advertised. It seems an older copy. However I have already read this book a long time ago and loved it. I have read it twice. Unfortunately I lent the book to a friend who never returned it. I am now purchasing it again to give to another friend who has just had major surgery and as she loves historical romance I think she will love the story. Unfortunately I haven't had time to read the book yet, apart from pages that related to Lincoln.
