About this product

Product Information

Harvard professor Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call while on business in Paris: the elderly curator of the Louvre, Jacques Sauni Sre, has been brutally murdered inside the museum. Alongside the body, police have found a series of baffling codes. As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, begin to sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to find a trail that leads to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci - and suggests the answer to a mystery that stretches deep into the vault of history. Breaking the mould of traditional suspense novels, The Da Vinci Code is simultaneously lightning-paced, intelligent and intricately layered with remarkable research and detail. From the opening pages to the unpredictable and stunning conclusion, Dan Brown proves himself to be a master storyteller.

  • A great listen

If you enjoyed watching either of these films then being read the story is just as good. my only criticism is the awful french accent and that of the English toff, that Jeff Harding approximates with. However he does get Langdon and Sophie quite well and I guess an upper English and gutteral French voice might be a bit of an ask for an American. However once you accept this and just listen then I think, so far anyway, that this abridged version is entirely OK. I have now bought all five of the Robert Landon books the other 3 are all unabridged which must be better and more satisfying, but I would still recommend this product wholeheartedly.
