  • Brilliant book, by a gifted writer- beware of outdated language.

This writer is absolutely brilliant. short stories, but of their time. That is my warning, they are set in America, in the south, in about the 1950's. So expect to be very aware of how language has changed since then, you will be startled, shocked even at the repeated use of one word to describe some of the characters. BUT if you can see past that, she writes beautifully, taking you right into the story, into the dialects and cares of these folk- I am very pleased to have got hold of a copy, I doubt it will be re-published.
