A Value For Money Version Of The Bible.
The King James Version (KJV) was first published in 1611 and is an English translation of the bible for the Church of England. It remains a majestic example of the early 17th-century English language and acted as a driving force for the English-speaking world. It is of great value culturally, historically and linguistically. As an atheist, many Christians (sometimes fundamentalists), direct quotations from scripture in my general direction. This is hermeneutically problematic because many adherents of the Christian faith fail to reasonably; never mind scholastically or philosophically, interpret scripture. I prefer to have this excellent version of the bible in order that I can read and attempt to reasonably interpret biblical passages. It comes with attractive and long-lasting black leather binding, a protective slip-case, gilt pages and a ribbon book-marker. This version of the KJV is very reasonably priced and is a welcome edition to my library because of its value to the English-speaking world since the early 17th-century.
