This is a biography of Johnny Herbert with full career details which includes winning the 1979 British Karting Championship, the 1985 Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival, and the 1987 British Formula 3 Championship. In 1995 he won two Grand Prix and finished fourth in the Drivers' Championship. Herbert's career has been full of up and downs. In 1988 he was unable to walk following a serious accident at Brands Hatch but just a year later he was finishing fourth in his Formula One debut for Benetton. In 1991 he contested seven Grand Prix for Lotus as well as completing a full season of Japanese Formula 3000 and winning the Le Mans 24-hour race. In 1994 he became the first driver to race different Formula One cars in three consecutive events, for Lotus, Ligier and Benetton. 1996 sees Herbert partnering Heinz-Harald Frentzen at the Swiss Sauber-Ford team.
