  • Laugh along with Lewisohn

A really excellent book which covers all facets of both UK and US TV comedy from the earliest days of television in the 1930's up to 2003 when this book was published. Wether it's stand-up, sit-coms, sketch shows or comedy dramas, you'll find it all in here. Mark Lewisohn has done a superb job, all throughly researched, with all broadcast details, main cast and crew credits, brief plot synopsis and critical appraisal's for hundreds of shows from those that are fondly remembered to those that are probably best forgotten. Although now some twenty years out of date, and never likely to be published again, having been (like so many other reference books) sacrificed on the altar of the internet, this is mostly definity worth getting hold of.
