Great light!
The Surefire G2 Nitrolon flashlight is a classic...they are no longer made in this version, so who knows how long they will be available. They are extremely durable and tough as nails and are built to last a lifetime. The only thing I would caution buyers about, is with this particular LED "bulb" or drop-in, they get very hot if left on for more than a few minutes at a time. The good news is, they are easily changed out and exchanged with a multitude of various LED as well as incandescent light engines. Changing them out is as simple as unscrewing the head and taking one drop-in, or "bulb" and dropping another in, and screwing the head back on. There are also many different parts that are interchangeable with other classic surefire lights (such as the 6P, 9P, C2, M2, C3, M3, etc), as well as other brands, that share the same basic platform, so they are very easily modified to be the flashlight you need them to be.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A bright flashlight
OK, first of all, I bought this because I had a P61 lamp assembly and no flashlight for it to go in (long story). I actually have been looking for a flashlight as good as my old E2e which I lost a long time ago. The G2 with the P61 lamp is close, but man, nothing lit up the woods like that old E2e. I also bought another E2e, but it doesn't even come close to the brightness my old one did. So, for now, this G2 will have to do. Nitrolon flashlight
Purchased this flashlight from China and found the product to be very good for its value. It is a twist on and off light. You can depress the end button for on and off ( tactical momentary function). I believe they sell end switch Caps on eBay if you want it to function with a click for on and off. Excellent Pre-LED Surefire
This is the original G2 with an incandescent Xenon bulb - before they switched to LED technology for those models. Its not as bright and won't have as long of a life but this is still a great flashlight for the asking prices now. I actually like the textured grip on these older models I think they look better and add a bit better retention in the hand. This one currently resides as a weapon light because it is so lightweight and rugged. And that OD green really looks good since most Surefires are black these days. Best Combat light available

Just addicted to incandescent!
I am glad that nowadays incandescent Surefires are so cheap, and performs well when battery supply is not a problem. Also got a P2ZX, which is LED, works as a search & combat light, while incans for more general uses like going for bathroom at night(6P Original) or serves as a backup flashlight(G2 Nitrolon) in my BOB when SHTF happens(incans, whose only drawback is runtime, work better than LED in bad weathers and outdoor activities, and are EMP proof).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

LED bulb allows for much longer run rime and is brighter than original incandescent bulbs. Another plus with these is no switch to go bad, my opinion this light should still work years from now.
