The single 123A lithium battery makes the flashlight lightweight and provides 5 lumens of light for up to 41 hours in low mode and 90 lumens for 6 hours in high mode. The lens is designed with total internal reflection technology, so that the light beam is tight and has stronger reach while limiting spill for peripheral vision. surefire e1L outdoorsman
Being a person that relies on flash lights every day it doesn't take long to see the trees in the forest and long ago the e1L was at the top of the list. A small one battery rugged lite with a low and a high beam. Believe that low beam saves batteries and that saves money. Its too bad they discontinued the model but now that I have a large enough cache to insure a life time I don't mind telling you. Also the low beam comes on first and not the other way around like my wife's defender and she's always nagging me for another battery because her high beam runs it down so fast. The drab olive color makes it look neat and that makes it a very nice gadget.
