About this product

Product Information

Rated “T” for teens and older players, Mister Mosquito is a fun and lighthearted video game for the PlayStation 2. Released in 2001 as part of the Fresh Games label owned by Eidos Interactive, it was one of the more popular titles for that PlayStation console at the time. The game follows the title character named Mister Mosquito. This adorable little creature survives off the blood he gets from humans. When the game starts, you will meet the main character and find that he recently invaded the Yamada home. You must attack the humans and suck their blood. This gives you enough sustenance to last you through each level and the coming change in the seasons. The opening chapter reveals that winter is fast approaching. Mister Mosquito will need enough food to last throughout that season in this virtual PS2 world. With each coming season, you'll need to accumulate more and more human blood to get you through. While the gameplay may sound simple, it's actually more challenging than you might expect. Once a new level starts, it releases you into a room and lets you play for points as an animated “moskeeto,” as the main character is referred to in Japan. Instead of just attacking any human that you see, you have specific objectives that you must complete. Each objective tells you which human you need to attack and where on their body to bite. Adding to the challenge is the stress level of the humans. If the stress meter reaches the top, the human can attack you back and even kill you. Keeping a close eye on the on-screen stress meter will help you avoid being maimed or killed. The longer you feed, the higher the stress level of the human will go, so be careful.Another thing to keep in mind is that this is one of the PlayStation 2's action-based games. The human characters slowly walk around the house, giving you a pattern that you can follow. The objectives, though, will ask you to attack a specific body part on a certain human character. Those body parts are only available in certain rooms and at certain times. This means that you need to keep an eye on the clock to manage your time wisely and still get the food that you need. You can also use cheats from Sony to get through some of the more advanced levels. Each level will give you some tips to make gaming easier, including the added feature of hidden objects that you can zoom in on to collect. These hidden objects will unlock helpful tools and tricks, like hints as to what victim and body part will be the best to attack.

  • This game really sucks (a lot of blood... you're a Mosquito after all)

Let's be real here, this game is about blood. Delicious blood. You're a Mosquito, a mini vampire, sucking human blood. You play as a mosquito who flys around different rooms of the house, praying on the entire family. The gameplay is solid, though it's fairly short if you rush through it. Whenever you've been seen, a battle sequence initiates and mayhem ensues. For what it is, it's great. It's funny. It's different. It's FUN! But if you're looking for a game with great flying controls and lots of action, check out Skygunner (ps2). If you're really into sucking blood, rpgs, or generally having fun, definitely check out Vampire: the masquerade - bloodlines (pc). Name just rolls off the tongue.

  • nostalgic fun

Mister Mosquito came out in 2001, the graphics are actually pretty good for it's time. You play a mosquito, and your goal is to torment a family in Japan. You try and suck as much blood from the father, mother and teenage daughter as you can, while avoiding swats, sprays, mosquito coils, and more. It's super fun while also a weird obsessive maddening effect, much like Flappy Bird.
