  • You WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED With The DeWalt 20v Max XR!!!

You WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED with this DeWalt drill!!! It has plenty of power to handle any job I can think of short of concrete. I say "short of concrete" only because it's not supposed to handle concrete but to be honest, I think, with a good concrete bit, it would handle it. I wouldn't buy it counting on it, it's only my opinion and I wouldn't do it all the time. The brushless motor is amazing, it has power to spare, the 2 speed and 15 clutch settings allow it to be used for any use you can think of. The adjustable light is a nice feature as well. I've used many brands of drills but I haven't found one that compares to the DeWalt except Makita. Makita is a good drill but it's priced A LOT higher and it doesn't have any features that the DeWalt doesn't have, nothing that makes it worth the price anyway. There are plenty of "Pros" but if I had to find some "Cons", I can only think of one and it's not really that bad. The sudden stop of the brushless motor and chuck makes a something of a metal on metal, "clunk" noise. Also, if you run the drill at high speed and the sudden stop can cause the chuck to come loose but ONLY if you don't have the chuck tight. I run the drill and hold the chuck to tighten it and I haven't had any problems with it. Also, I have, in the past, had an issue with my 18v drill and DeWalt customer service was easy to contact and took care of the problem right away. I can't see switching to another brand, DeWalt has always been the highest quality and had features that no other brand could match, PERIOD!!!

  • Could be smaller

I had not seen one before I purchased this. It has good torque, an 2 basic speeds. The only downfall was it's size. It's big and bulky. I work on my own cars and its awkward size doesn't allow me to do work in tighter areas as I would like. I liked that it was cordless and I didn't need to pull out my medium size air compressor and air tools. I feel it's still handy. Respectfully Yours, Ray

  • Top notch drill.

I can only rate it from using others like it and for testing out my new purchase. It is being saved until Father's Day but I did test it to see everything works. From one like this I have used the battery life and power of the brush less motor are amazing. I do like the compact size for my many uses.

  • Light, powerful, with battery life

Love that drill is light compared to my old craftsmen and also comes with a light which is very useful. Good power for its small size. Batteries charge quick and hold charge well and can't beat the price I got from the seller on eBay. Great drill and would recommend for your projects around the house.

  • Exactly what I needed.

60+ woman who needed a drill for household projects. This seems to do exactly what I needed it for. I imagine it will probably do a lot more than the basic tightening cabinet door handles, framing, etc. Not super heavy, 20v batteries are smaller, but great power. Thank you for allowing me to comment. Love thus Dewalt DCD791D2.

  • Best Drill/Driver I ever owned

I had a 24 volt Bosch that I just stubbornly refused to let go of. But it was heavy and the batteries were beginning to die. This DeWalt DCD791D2 Drill/Driver replacement felt great in the hand and the power was surprising. A fantastic upgrade

  • It was time.

After my Dewalt 14.4v finally died after 10 years of service with the original batteries. I decided to get a new one. This 1/2" - 20v with brushless motor is awesome. I like the metal chuck and how it works. I like how the light actually shines on what you're doing and not around it. All in all, I'm a happy camper!

  • Excellent drill, excellent price

Oh man I love my new drill. In a week I've used it for running boring hole in the house during, mounting conduit, flashlight feature for the crawl space, and mounting a spa disconnect breaker to the house. One week down. 51 more to go. This drill is going to get me there. Brushless: more power, longer battery life. Its not just marketing gimics. I've been using the higher torque, but lower speed setting (1) because setting (2) is usually just two fast. Flashlight: I thought the flashlight feature was marketing fluff until I got two very real world scenarios. First: I found myself under the house with a low power headlamp, the flashlight saved me from going back out to get a brighter light. Second: as I worked through the eve and it got dark, I flipped the flashlight on and kept working. After two hours in the dark (and several uses of the drill too) it was still going strong

  • Excellent gift for my husband

Bought as a present and based on my husband's reaction and feedback after he puts lots of shelfs the set is great, high-quality, handy, comfortable to use and the drill doesn't make lots of noise. Very satisfied with the purchase
