The ear pads on the over-the-head headphones are replaceable so that the life of the produce is extended. These large ear pads make the Shure headphones comfortable even over long periods of time. The cable on the Shure headphones is three m long and is also detachable. With the bayonet clip on the over-the-head headphones ear cup, users can lock the cord in place when not in use. For optimised sound, the Shure SRH440 has a 40 mm neodymium driver, enhanced frequency response, and noise isolation. With a closed-back design, the headphones are able to block out sound in a noisy room so that people can listen to his or her music at a comfortable volume level. These Shure headphones can connect to just about any audio device with a standard plug, and with the gold-plated adapter, the headphones can attach to many more audio devices as well.

Shure SRH440 headphones.
These headphones are great, I have tried lots of headphones, 4 different models of sennheisers, ath-m30x, Sony, Pioneer etc but none match these for sound quality and I have now found the set that I am very happy with. There is not much padding on the headband (common complaint) but I bought a cheap headband cushion and it does the job well. You can also get better ear cushions from the next model up SRH840 but I will wait til mines a worn and needing replaced. These are described as a neutral headphone but I find them just fine and the bass is punchy enough for me. A very understated set of headphones that can be had cheap these days. I would also recommend buying a short straight cable for everyday use.

Shure srh 440 headphones
These headphones are well constructed,lighweight and comfartable,i listen to a lot of rock and metal music and found them particuarly suited to this style of music,neither biased toward bass.mid or treble,they give a very clear well rounded sound,they have a one sided entry detatchable cable and come with a smart storage bag and an input adaptor.,.very well priced for headphones of this quality and i would highly recommend them to all those wanting reasonably priced quality headphones,

Good sound and quieter for the rest of the house.
I have more than one pair of headphones, Grado SR80, SR125 and SR225. They are all great for different kinds of listening but because of their design they leak sound . The Shures don't and the sound compares favourably with the Grados. My wife is greatly relieved!
