Reviews"One of the most compelling and original works in a 50-plus-year career loaded with such transcendent moments.", "Like nearly all his records, this one is a fully immersive experience; trips to Bowie-land – a place where every encounter is a metaphysical hall of mirrors, all the hours are after hours, and the cult of personality has its own G-force – don’t really come any other way." -- Grade: A-, 4 stars out of 5 -- "One of the most aggressively experimental records the singer has ever made....BLACKSTAR is a ricochet of textural eccentricity and pictorial-shrapnel writing.", "BLACKSTAR becomes whole with its two-song denouement, which balances out the bruises and blood with a couple of salty tears. These are essentially classic David Bowie ballads...", "Blackstar May Well Be His Final Gift to Us Mere Mortals, but It's an Incredible Final Chapter.", "Art-damaged ballads on which several excellent musicians flesh out tricky time signatures and unexpected chord progressions....BLACKSTAR finds Bowie and longtime producer Tony Visconti as hungry as they ever were...", "BLACKSTAR is unmistakably a band record, showcasing a talented group of musicians who are comfortable navigating the songs' harmonically twisty byways....They give the record a distinctively eerie, muscular stamp.", "BLACKSTAR spins the spaceship back around and points it at the moon. Bowie’s formidable record of reinventing himself with each new album remains intact.", "He Never Sounds Less than Marvelous....Blackstar's Theatrical Bent Is What Is Most Striking."

  • Best Bowie Album, the story of a star and the fear of a man

This album is considered to be the epitaph of David Jones born the 10th January 1947, as known from the 70s as David Bowie. His first album was out in 1967, and since then he has not stopped amazing people with his dash, and changes , There are few people in the world, who have such a charisma and aura that lifts them above the other human creatures, Bowie, like Mercury, Jagger, Plant, Celentano,Waters, Gabriel. and Morrison were all born in the 40s and the 50s and they walked the earth as humans, but they will always be remembered in the next hundreds of years as immortals, like nowadays, we think about Chopin, Beethoven, Verdi and others who were geniuses. Time will change me, but I cannot change time, part of the lyrics of Bowie which cross the path of each human in this world at one time or another, but passed through a medium, which we call music, an interpretation, that is emotional like love, fear or anger, that goes through the borders of languages, nations races or sexes. Blackstar reached number 1 in all the western world charts, some say because he passed away,..... to these people I say, sit down, put on your turn table and plug it to your amp, turn on the sound and close your eyes.... and you will hear just a human voice which can penetrate your soul... and if you dont, its OK...... Gamgam style is the most hit song on You tube enjoy it, pity that you cannot digest music as it should be

  • Blackstar on black vinyl.

I bought on this cd when it first came out. I wish I'd bought the vinyl instead. Now I have the two, I can confirm that it sounds much better than its digital counterpa rt, though it is cut at quite a low level. Either way, it's a magnificent final album from Bowie - but the black vinyl is the best way to hear it.

  • David Bowie Black Star.

Singing about your cancerous tumour and making your last album, this album blew me away ,the writing, production, absolutly brilliant, and I am not a fan normally. But I recommend this album to any musicians out there, be alone and listen all the way to the end and you will start to understand how brilliant David Bowie was. R.I.P. you black star.

After breaking the star on the sleeve cover I need to get another straight away and keep this one in mint condition , so I'm willing to take the risk and leave it sealed and unplayed.. It looks very good though
