ReviewsDaily Telegraph - What Cooke captures is the scope, the daring and the savage headlong rush of the poet's imagination, and that's not to be scoffed at.

Amazing- this is how all Shakespeare should look from now on!
Overall, the look, the production, the acting is just sumptuous and believable. Forget Olivier's version of Richard III with all his pomposity and bring in the reign of Benedict I because this is Shakespeare for the 21st Century with gritty realism. Even if teenagers don't understand the text, they will understand the power of the acting and this whole series delivers in spades. In part 1, you had an incredible Ben Wishaw as Richard II and Tom Hiddleston as a dashing Henry V and this DVD (Part 2) brings even more power in the shape of Okinedo, Cumberbatch and Bonneville!
There are moments when some of Shakespeare's magic of language is lost in a summary; like in Richard's opening soliloquy "Now is the winter of our discontent..." and you wonder why cut some of the amazing lines that followed but overall this is just AMAZING and a real update for Shakespeare fans new and old.
