  • Astro dream

Great bit of kit. Only thing I think lets it down is the non inclusion of an internal polar scope illuminator. The added external light can be lost in the field especially in the dark. They are not cheap to re purchase. also the battery lid is not very secure and comes of very easy. another thing to get lost. Other than this great

  • Very pleased with the product.

While only having a couple of 'timid step' tryouts of the StarAdventurer Pro since receiving last week, I can say that, given the fact I only have set it up with Polaris inside the reticle of the scope (but not precisely aligned as such), I've taken a couple of 30 second tracked exposures of 1. Arcturus/Bootes at 24mm with a Nikon D5500 directly mounted (not with the Dec bracket but with a ball head) and 2. Same with a Samyang 85mm pointed at Vega/Lyra and have been delighted with the results. Even with the 85mm, the stars were round but were on the verge of displaying some movement due to being unaligned precisely. Trying to peer through that polarscope, however, is a pain and the reticle, even with the illumination, is very faint and the bending/crick in the neck just makes you not wish to do it. But I'll keep trying. However, whatever you buy, try not to get a delivery by Evri/Hermes. I have had a few deliveries by them and their service and support is abysmal. Plus you cannot get through to any customer service/support and, if one emails you, I can assure you it is AI mailing you whether they give you a name or not.
