Great value
Only had the Genius1 a short time. It is very easy to set up - the biggest challenge is to correctly identify the type of battery you are connecting the Genius1 to. After that, it runs automatically. I have observed the indicator lights changing at vairous times to tell me that the battery is charged or the Genius1 is conditioning the battery. noco smart charger
old timey 'trickle chargers' can (will) dry out the electrolyte in a car type battery, this one turns itself off, and does such things as de-sulfide. I use it to keep batteries up on seasonal tools such as lawn tractors when storing over winter. also there is one of the same brand that charges a small 12v battery that runs an old car radio in the garage. the battery was old, removed from service and not very good, but on this charger the radio/battery has worked well for years, so a couple more came home to keep batteries up on vehicles that don't get driven much, such as collector cars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Mixed emotions
The unit is very different than the Battery Tender Jr that I am used to. Directions are not really clear so there is some guesswork concerning when it stops conditioning and moves to maintenance. The in-line connection is kind of flimsy which seems to be a common complaint. I would be on the fence about buying another right now. Let’s see how it works out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This "ain't yer grandpa's smart charger"
I have several vehicles that I store each (Michigan) winter and have tried most if not all of the other "smart" chargers on the market. It has been frustrating to have batteries die while on those chargers, leaving me to question their advertised performance. This time, a Delco battery in my Corvette, just barely out of warranty, was full green one day and blinking green (trying to charge) the next day before it got so low it would not allow the (electronic) doors, and therefore the hood, to open. Eventually, using my 10 amp (non smart) charger the battery would take a charge, then fully discharge (even though out of the car) in about an hour. With a $150 battery replacement the only solution I thought I would try the Noco1. It took about 2 days for the Noco to go from pulsing red (never indicated a battery fault) to pulsing green, and another 8 hrs to go to steady green. I then unhooked the battery, reinstalled it, and purposely left the charger off overnight. The next morning the car was fully functional (electrically) and when I re hooked up the Noco it went from pulsing green to full green in about 2 hrs. 3 weeks later it sometimes pulses green but then goes full green shortly after, and stays fully charaged. THIS PRODUCT WORKS AS ADVERTISED. (I then bought 3 more Noco1's and a Noco10 replacing the "junk" I had been trusting)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
