A well engineered kit that works with great fitting instructions.
When I took my DISA valve out of the inlet manifold I could tell straight away it was broken! The photographs show that the flap had broken away from the operating arm. I looked at a three different options for repairing this. I had seen some spurious new DISA valves for sale but figured that if I had an original BMW valve that could be repaired then I should do that. I found two different repair kits on eBay, one in plastic and the other (this one) in aluminium. I decided that as the original in plastic had broken that I should go with the aluminium kit. This did not disappoint. The kit arrived next day. There are instructions on the internet showing how to fit and test the kit. The instructions are very good, the pieces all assembled up very easily and from unbolting the broken Disa valve to refitting it all reapired up was less than 30 minutes including reading the instructions. My car did have lean codes but the more noticable problem was that it felt flat with poor throttle response. I now have a far better throttle response and the car does not feel flat any more. Although I have replaced the DISA valve as part of a batch of work to address the lean codes, I have done any changes one item at a time so can actually say for certain that the repair kit cured my problem.

Great quality, includes everything you need, even grease & lock tight. Scan some instructions on the bag & it’s about a 20 minute job all in. Very well thought out & great quality! Buy cheap, buy twice
Bought the X8R vanos seal kit before, had everything I needed, was chuffed with the quality. I did buy a disa valve from a polish seller here, blue plastic thing, broke within a month and had half a disa flap rattling around in my manifold. Not happy. Bought this and the weighty aluminum flap, locktite and reinforced shaft reassured me it won't happen with this one. Kit is coprehensive and even has instructions. Excellent well engineered product eliminating the pin at engine end
I had looked at cheaper product on market and read the review on them almost all of them are poor quality and risky as still there is a pin at one end. I bought the X8R kit , it arrived next day by Royal mail .you can tell straight away the quality that has gone into engineer this product and therefore I did not mind paying a bit more for quality product .came with instruction in proper English not translated from Chinese !. Updated DISA Flap
Saw these recently whilst looking into E46 issues and DISA was one of the items mentioned. Whilst looking into this issue X8R has been mentioned on many videos as a great aftermarket alternative to OEM so I was happy to pay the £65 and upon receiving the item quality was aluminium as mentioned and all sealants and grease were provided for the job all you need is the tools and if you get lost they even have a good video explaining how to replace the flap that a novice like myself could follow and highly recommend this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A get what you pay for DISA repair kit
Purchased this for preventive maintenance on my high mileage but sound M54 motor , I am in the trade and on the tools so can easily spot poor quality or over priced garbage a mile off ..... which this is neither , it comes with every thing you need to carry out this simple repair which could possibly save you expensive engine damage and at the very least low speed running and potential fault codes , nothing more to add other than if you want quality this kit is well thought out and made and in the grand scheme of BMW ownership is little cost for piece of mind.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
